Kamut is probably my favorite grain due to its rich, buttery taste, chewy texture and versatility. You can use Kamut any way you would rice or wheat berries. Kamut is a type of ancient wheat, which was eaten in ancient Egypt. It is about two to three times bigger than conventional wheat and is difficult to overcook, making it ideal for easy crockpot meals and soups. Some studies show that when eaten as part of a healthy diet, Kamut may reduce risk of cardiovascular disease, reduce symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), increase antioxidant capacity, and decrease inflammation. Kamut has all the health benefits of common wheat but it is easier to digest because enzymes that break down gluten have not been bred out over time.  It is a good source of selenium, and has more vitamin E, zinc and magnesium than modern wheat.

Boil 3 cups of water, add 1 cup Kamut grain and simmer for 90min.
Try Kamut flour as you would use wheat flour.
